Marsa Daniel takes 10th at StarCrossed!

After a brief hiatus from the UCI calendar, StarCrossed: a Rapha Super Cross Event returned this year as the cross season kick-off race, attracting top U.S. and international cyclists to Redmond, Wash.

IMG_6664-LThe well-attended event kicked off with local races at 2 p.m. and continued until well after sunset with the Elite women and men racing at 7  and 8 p.m. respectively.

Some of our own ladies bravely lined up for the UCI Elite women’s race alongside international pros like Gabby Durrin (Rapha-Focus), Mycal Dyck (Stan’s NoTubes) and Caroline Mani (Raleigh-Clement).

Durrin showed off her good form, claiming the win with a 30-second gap over second-place finisher Courtney McFadden (Bicycle Blue Book, HRS, Rock Lobster). Meanwhile, our very own Marsa Daniel proved that she is more than capable of holding her own, claiming a Top 10 finish and earning her first UCI point!

Props also to Karen Wilkinson and Anne-Marije Rook for their strong showings in the Elite race, and to all the other TGH ladies who raced earlier in the day.

Lee Smith finished 6th in the Master 40-plus race and Heidi Gaertner snagged the 10th spot in the Cat 4 race.

Well done, ladies!
