Team Thrive is getting geared up for another road season to start! With the help of our main sponsors, Kaiser Permanente Washington and Colavita, the team is hoping to earn the honor of WSBA women’s team of the year after earning this honor in 2015, 2017, and 2018.Team Thrive has hired Jessica Cutler as a Road Team Tactical Coach in an exciting new partnership. Continuing with our longstanding mission of providing and encouraging growth in women’s cycling, the funds paid for this partnership are going directly to support the Northwest Women’s Cyclocross Project, a junior and U23 development team.
Team Thrive has the goal of racing well and having fun as a team, and we are spending the next few months training together to reach this goal. Our training rides are headed up by the team’s training ride planner, Nikki Mohrbacher, who is the rider to watch for this season. Dubbed the “Tiny Beast” by members of the Apex Racing team, she has been training hard since last season and is ready to put all that hard work to the test. Our usual road crew, some new riders from the area and some transplants to the Washington area will round out the road roster for a successful year of racing.
In April, the team will be once again heading to Sea Otter Cycling Classic in Monterey, CA after kicking the season off here in Washington with three early season focus races including Tour de Dung, University of Washington Road Race, and Independence Valley Road Race in March.
